General Information
(What can be considered general, public knowledge about House.)

Dr. Gregory House is a board certified diagnostician with a double specialty of infectious disease and nephrology. He is currently employed at the (fictional) Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, in Princeton, New Jersey.

He is one of the best doctors in the country, and often claims to be the best doctor on the Eastern Seaboard. This may or may not be true. He's also incredibly intelligent and has a reputation for doing things other doctors would consider unethical, but despite his reputation or legal troubles, he continues to practice medicine.

Physical Attributes
(What your muse would see/notice upon 'meeting' House for the first time.)

House is a man in his late forties who stands at roughly 6'2" tall. (His birthday has been given as 12/21/1959 in season one, and later was given as 06/11/1959 on a medical ID bracelet in season three. For the purposes of this character I will be using the June date, therefore he's 48 years old.) He has a full head of dark brown hair, which is peppered with grey, as well as a constant five o'clock shadow, blue eyes, and angular features.

House also carries a cane due to an injured right leg, and is almost always dressed in sneakers, jeans, and t-shirts. When he is at work, he will be wearing a button down shirt and suit jacket, but never a labcoat unless it is specifically mentioned. He despises ties.

Traits, Habits, and Actions
(How House may react to meeting your muse, or during interaction with them.)

House speaks with an American accent, he's very articulate, and when speaking, generally uses his facial expressions to show what he's thinking. His tone often is sarcastic, sharp, and he has no problems with insulting people if he thinks they're being stupid. He says what's on his mind, even if it may come across as inappropriate. He lacks social grace but he has his charm. He can use his logical and reasoning (however flawed it may seem to the general public) to manipulate people and get what he wants. He comes off as arrogant to most people he speaks to.

He has a problem with being still for too long unless he's in deep thought. Often he will conduct his talks with his team 'on the go' as they move around the hospital in a pack. The cane and limp, which while it slows him down somewhat, does not affect him enough to keep him down, and he often uses the cane as an advantage (opening doors, elevator buttons, gettng sympathy from others, tripping people, etc.) to get what he wants with the minimal amount of effort. His belief is that he's intelligent, so why should he work harder than neccesary to get the job done?

As for skills, House is musically inclined (he can play both piano and guitar very well), and he can also juggle, peform yo-yo tricks, and speak several languages (English, spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Hindi, Arab, French, and Japanese). Before the injury which caused him to need the cane, he was an avid runner and played lacrosse in high school and college.

Muse Backstory
(Most things your muse would NOT know unless told.)

House's personal life and past is generally kept quiet because he is a private man. He will not usually talk about it unless pressed, and even then, some things are lies and some is truth, and he'll deflect unless there is a level of trust.

Growing up, House's father was in the Marines and the family moved a lot, which explains his knowledge of languages. Canon tells us that as a child he spent time in Egypt and some high school was spent in Japan. Canon also tells us that House's father was somewhat abusive (probably verbally, as a military officer expecting perfection from his only son) details which are given in season three: Too scared of...being forced to sleep in the yard
or take a bath in ice. He does not reveal this to anyone, to this date the only people who know can be counted on one hand. House's mother also does not know any of this, she and her husband are still married and travel together. House does not see them, save for rare occasions.

After high school, things get hazy. Through developing the character and details we've gotten from the show, I've established that after high school and Japan, he took a few years off from college and spent it with his band (we meet a fellow buddy and bandmate in season 2, and learn that they both were in New Orleans when House was 20) before going to undergrad (I've always said Princeton U but this may change) and then John Hopkins. He was expelled from John Hopkins for cheating and got his medical degree from Michigan State (he never specifies which Michigan it is, but Michigan State has the better medical program).

It's been offhand mentioned that he bounced around a few hospitals and that Princeton-Plainsboro is the only one who will continue to keep him hired, as he has tenure and is the best doctor they have on staff.

Basically, this version of House was originally created to be an AU version of the muse from the show while still using as much of the canon as possible. You can go here for a brief summary of the episodes.

Notable things changed: House did not sleep with Stacy (season two), did not OD on vicodin (season three), and the episode Airborne never happened (season three).

This muse will follow the events of canon to a degree with edits for artistic license. Basically the details are as follows:

He met a woman online in December of 2004. In March of 2005, they met for the first time, face to face. In July of 2005, he took her away to Belize and married her. In August of 2006, she gave him his first child, a son.
